Your local parish churches are committed to being a Christian presence within the local community, and so church members raise money every year to maintain and insure the church buildings, to provide worship, to pay for the clergy and to make a contribution to the wider church, especially to assist parishes in poorer areas. Today each church increasingly relies on individual contributions from members of the congregations and other supporters, either through regular weekly or monthly donations, or through one off gifts. The three Churches in the Parish are not subsidised by endowments from previous generations, nor do they automatically receive any grants towards their day to day costs or the upkeep of their beautiful and historic buildings, therefore any donations, however small are gratefully received.
There are several ways to support your local church in its work and it doesn’t take much money to make difference.
To give regular contributions please contact the parish treasurer:
Richard Kendall at richardkendall454@icloud.com or on 01273 492294. You can also donate up to £10 via your mobile phone. Simply text HPCC11 and the amount (from £1 – £10) to 70070
For those who value the historic importance of the buildings, the Friends of St. Peter’s Church, Henfield, and the Friends of St. Giles’, Shermanbury raise funds for the repair and restoration of their respective Church buildings. The congregation of St Peter’s, Woodmancote also put on regular events to raise money for the upkeep of that historic building. Donations specifically for the upkeep of the buildings can be made via the church office, please state clearly which church building the donation is for.
Finally the congregations also believe it’s important to support other charities too. If you would like to find out who is supported please follow this link https://henfield.org/charities-we-support/
The Parochial Church Council would like to THANK YOU for all the support you give to our three Churches.
