The news that HRH Prince Philip has died has saddened many people and we give thanks to God for his life, his dedicated service to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, and perhaps most of all his loyalty and unfailing support and dedication to Her Majesty The Queen for 73 years. St.Peter’s Church, Henfield will remain open from 9am until 5 pm to allow people to come in to remember Prince Philip in prayer and to light a candle. At all services on Sunday 10th April, prayers will be said and there will be a minutes silence. At the 10.00am and 11.15am services (11.15am service is at Woodmancote) the National Anthem will be sung by a soloist. Arrangements are yet to be agreed for a commemorative service on behalf of the whole community, although it is expected that this will be held at 6pm the evening before the day of his funeral. Once details are finalised for the service – which will be live-streamed – they will be made available on this website and via social media channels.
