You may have already heard the news, but if you haven’t  from the 4th October, when we celebrate Harvest, the service times at Henfield will change. The new worship times should be easier to remember and there really is something for everyone, from traditional, to contemplative, quiet and said services, to those with organ and choir or piano. For those who wish to stay after a service refreshments are available each week after the 10am service. The pattern will be:-

Week1: 10.00: Celebrate! All Age Praise (A service designed for the whole family using songs, hymns, activities, prayers and a short talk and lasting about 45 mins)

6.30pm Quiet, said service of Holy Communion (A contemporary said service including readings, prayers a short sermon and the sharing of bread and wine)

Week2: 8.30am Holy Communion (a traditional said service of communion using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer)

10.00am Parish Communion with choir and junior church (Sunday School) (A service with hymns, prayers, readings, a sermon/talk with groups for children, this service includes sharing in communion)

Week3: 10.00am Parish Communion with choir and junior church

6.30pm Contemplative Prayer Service (These services use resources from many Christian traditions and include times of silence)

Week4: 8.30am Holy Communion (Said Book of Common Prayer)

10.00 Family Communion with choir and Junior Church (A slightly more informal service with hymns, prayers, readings, a sermon/talk and communion. There are also children’s groups during the service)

Week5: 10.00am Parish Communion

6.30pm Sung Evensong shared across the Benefice (A sung service of hymns, psalms, readings, prayers and a short sermon using the traditional 1662 Book of Common Prayer)
