Your local parish churches are committed to being a Christian presence within the local community, and so church members raise money every year to maintain and insure the church buildings, to provide worship, to pay for the clergy and to make a contribution to the wider church, especially to assist parishes in poorer areas. Today each church increasingly relies on individual contributions from members of the congregations and other supporters, either through regular weekly or monthly donations, or through one off gifts. The three Churches in the benefice (a group of parishes that share a vicar) are not subsidised by endowments from previous generations, nor do they automatically receive any grants towards their day to day costs or the upkeep of their beautiful and historic buildings, therefore any donations, however small are gratefully received.
There are several ways to support your local church in its work and it doesn’t take much money to make difference.
To give regular contributions please contact one of the parish treasurers:
St.Peter’s, Henfield, contact James Whittle at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01273 493369 . You can also donate up to £10 via your mobile phone. Simply text HPCC11 and the amount (from £1 – £10) to 70070
St.Peter’s, Woodmancote, contact Richard Hill at email@example.com or on 014273 493931
St.Giles’, Shermanbury, contact Trevor Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01403 710061
For those who value the historic importance of the buildings, the Friends of St Peter’s Church, Henfield, and the Friends of St Giles’, Shermanbury raise funds for the repair and restoration of their respective Church buildings.
Finally the congregations also believe it’s important to support other charities too. If you would like to find out who is supported please follow this link http://henfield.org/charities-we-support/
The Parochial Church Councils of each of the three churches would like to THANK YOU for all your support.
