Christian Aid has quite a slew of resources and ideas including Count your Blessings & their twitter stream, and TEAR Fund are supporting a Carbon Fast.

Here at Henfield we are doing Frugal Lunches on Wednesdays. Soup & bread & a ‘thought’. We will be using Bishop Stephen Cotterell’s The Nail as our basis.

The Choir of Chichester Cathedral is to visit St. Peter’s, Henfield; in the Hurst Deanery on Sunday 12 February 2012, at 4:30pm

Cathedral Choir Visit

The entire musical establishment of Chichester Cathedral is to move from its home base to undertake a long-planned visit to St. Peter’s Church, Henfield. The Choir of 16 choristers and 6 Lay Vicars will sing Evensong under the direction of Sarah Baldock, Organist and Master of the Choristers. With her will come the The Dean, the Very Rev’d Nicholas Frayling, and The Revd Canon David Nason (Priest Vicar). The school’s headmaster, Tim Cannell, and the Cathedral’s Assistant Organist Tim Ravalde and the Organ Scholar Alex Goodwin will also be present.

Many from the Hurst Deanery and the wider Mid-Sussex area will remember Sarah Baldock’s impressive organ recital in October 2008 and will wish now to take the opportunity to hear the choir that she has honed so brilliantly over the last four years.

It is a rare privilege for a village community to be able to hear the choir of the diocesan cathedral as it leads a service of worship in a local setting. Everyone is warmly invited to be present on this special occasion. We hope you will join us in St. Peter’s to give an enthusiastic & sincere welcome to the distinguished musicians of Chichester Cathedral.
