Farewell at Woodmancote

The Rev’d Alastair Cutting’s last service in Woodmancote was Holy Communion on Passion Sunday. Alastair has been Rector at Woodmancote (part of the Henfield Benefice) since 2010.

Farewells at Woodmancote

At the end of the service churchwardens Peggy Whiting and Richard Hill presented Alastair with a framed picture of St. Peter’s, and a cross carved from some of the ancient medieval oak headstock for the bells, left over after the 2012 restoration of the bells.

Alastair & Kay’s final farewell in the Benefice will be at St. Peter’s, Henfield, on Easter Sunday evening, at the ecumenical Easter Praise service, 6:30pm, on the 31 March 2013.

Alastair is to be the next Archdeacon of Lewisham and Greenwich. His installation will be at Southwark Cathedral on Sunday 14 April at 3pm. All are welcome.

In this 350th anniversary year of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, the Henfield Benefice are holding a celebratory service – all three of our parishes regularly use the BCP.

We are celebrating with a Service of Mattins, starting at 11:30am on Sunday 14 October 2012, held at St Peter’s church, Woodmancote; followed by a hot & cold buffet lunch across the road at Terry’s Cross House 12:45 for 1pm. The cost of the ticket covers the buffet lunch, you do not need a ticket to attend the service.

There will also be an exhibition on the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, including some materials from the Prayer Book Society.
