St Peter’s Henfield – Church Fete Saturday 29th June

Fete poster

On Saturday 29th June at St Peter’s Church, Henfield, we are hosting our annual Fete from 2pm until 4.30pm in the Vicarage Garden, Church Lane.

This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the re-casting of the bells in St Peter’s Church tower.  There will be the opportunity to have a go at bell-ringing; and for the younger ones the chance to make and decorate their own bell and enter a competition.

Installing an Archdeacon

Vicar of Henfield Alastair Cutting is due to be Installed at Southwark Cathedral at 3pm on Sunday 14 April, the second Sunday after Easter. (Archdeacons have a stall in a cathedral, hence installation.) Alastair is one of  the three archdeacons being installed that day – further detail on the Southwark staff team (soon to be updated with the fresh appointments) is on the Southwark diocesan web site.

Southwark Invitation

You don’t need a ticket for the service, but it would help to have an idea of numbers, so please use one of the sign-up sheets in our churches, or contact the office 01273 495532.

There is minimal parking near the cathedral; and as London Bridge train station is less than 5 minutes away, that would appear to be the best way to travel. From Hassocks, suggested trains are 12:54, getting to London Bridge at 14:05; or the 13:24 from Hassocks getting in at 14:35.

Parish Breakfast – The Classic – 26 January 2013
