New Evening Services at Henfield and Woodmancote

This week sees a the start of two new evening services  both designed to take some time in the midst of a busy week to meet with God in silence and prayer.

On Tuesday evenings at St. Peter’s, Henfield the service of Compline (night prayers) will be said at 8pm. This service by candlelight  includes prayers, a short reading, a psalm, and plenty of time to turn our hearts towards God in silent prayer. The service also begins and ends with gentle meditative music.

In the late afternoons on Wednesday’s at St.Peter’s, Woodmancote, a traditional form of Evening prayer will be said  at 5.30pm using the words from the Book of Common Prayer. Again there will be an opportunity to engage in silent prayer and also to pray for the community, the world and those who are suffering in any way.
