Shermanbury Fayre 2012 – review

The third Shermanbury Fayre, on the grounds outside St. Giles’ church, in Shermanbury Place (at the kind invitation of the Greenwell family) was an outstanding event once again!

Tug O War

Tug O War – with the nearly victorious Bullsien Bulls

Hundreds of people crowded in to the parking fields, and the threatened downpours stayed away for a brilliant afternoon. Events for all the family, from children’s stalls, another visit from the Kent & Surrey bloodhounds, fantastic food cooked on site, clay pigeon shooting – and so much more…

350th Anniversary of the BCP

In this 350th anniversary year of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, the Henfield Benefice are holding a celebratory service – all three of our parishes regularly use the BCP.

We are celebrating with a Service of Mattins, starting at 11:30am on Sunday 14 October 2012, held at St Peter’s church, Woodmancote; followed by a hot & cold buffet lunch across the road at Terry’s Cross House 12:45 for 1pm. The cost of the ticket covers the buffet lunch, you do not need a ticket to attend the service.

There will also be an exhibition on the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, including some materials from the Prayer Book Society.
