NINEBARROW are a multi-award-winning folk duo, who are impressing audiences across the country with their innovative and captivating take on the folk tradition. Described by Mike Harding as sounding ‘damn fine’ and by Kate Rusby as ‘absolutely amazing’, Jon Whitley and Jay LaBouchardiere combine breath taking vocal harmonies and melodies, delivering original songs that are inspired and rooted in the landscape and history of the British Isles. As well as crafting unique and engaging original material, Ninebarrow also take a wide-range of traditional folk songs and rework them in their own, distinctive way. Not only exceptional singers and musicians, Ninebarrow are also equally passionate about the stories behind their songs – combining their music with history, folklore and storytelling. The duo were recently nominees for ‘Best Duo’ in the Fatea Magazine Awards 2016.

This promises to be a fabulous evening with all profits being donated to Henfield Youth Club. We look forward to seeing you then.

Former Curate installed as new Dean of Lincoln Cathedral.

Lincoln Cathedral - A wonderful welcome to the new Dean

Back in May this year it was announced that a former curate in Henfield, Christine Wilson, had been appointed to be the new Dean of Lincoln Cathedral. Many people will remember Christine, her husband Alan, and their family during their years in Henfield. She trained on the Southern Diocese Ministerial Training Scheme while her daughters were studying for GCSEs and A-levels, and was ordained deacon in 1997, and priest in1998. In 2002, Christine was appointed Team Vicar of St John the Baptist, Hove where she went on to train our current vicar Rev’d Paul and in 2008, she was appointed Vicar of St Mary and St Lawrence, Goring-by-Sea, and it was during this period that tragically her middle daughter died from cancer. Within a year of being at Goring-by-Sea, she was recruited as Archdeacon of Chesterfield in 2010. Christine is a member of  the General Synod, (The Church of England’s governing body) and was one of the  eight female participant observers on the House of Bishops.

We all wish Christine the very best in her new role.

Christine’s installation took place on the 22nd October. For details please follow the following link. https://lincolncathedral.com/welcome-new-dean/
