Home Groups

One of the most important things about being part of a Church family is to feel encouraged on the journey of faith. Home groups provide an opportunity for people to explore the bible together, to talk, to pray, to make new friends,  and most importantly to encourage one another as Christians in the informal comfort of someone’s home.  Currently there are two home groups, each meeting fortnightly.  If you would like to find out more please contact the group hosts.Image result for home groups church

Singing in Church and church choirs.

Many people love singing during Church Services and many parish churches have a  choir  to lead the singing in worship.  Until recently there were two choirs, one at St. Peter’s, Henfield and the other at St. Peter’s Woodmancote.  We very much want to restart our choir at St.Peter’s, Henfield, however at the moment  we invite singers to help form a choir  for festival services, especially Christmas,  and  for the quarterly evening services of Choral Evensong (5th Sundays).  A small choir continues to sing each Sunday at Woodmancote at 9.45am.

Any enquiries about singing, especially in helping out at the main Christian festivals,  at either St. Peter’s, Henfield or St. Peter’s, Woodmancote please contact the church office  (01273 495532)

Bell ringing

St. Peter’s Church, Henfield has a ring of 8 bells and our bell ringers ring before the 10.00am service each Sunday and before some special services. When requested by couples (who pay a fee) they also ring for weddings. We have been told that a peal from our bells is one of the best in Sussex, come and listen for yourself. If you would like to join our team of ringers please contact the tower captain, Alison Hammond (01273 596485)

St.Peter’s Hand bells

Hand bell ringing is great fun.  St.Peter’s Henfield has it’s own set of fabulous handbells and the handbell ringers rehearse on Saturday mornings in St.Peter’s Church, Henfield from 10.30am until Midday. Contact the Church office on 01273 495532  or Heather McFarlane-Cryer on 01273 492442 for further details.

On the 2nd Sunday of most months at 12.30pm you are invited to a lunch at The Haven in Hewitts where members of St.Peter’s help to serve lunch. Lunches cost £7.50 for 2 courses and include tea/coffee or juice. Children under 13 eat free.  To book or for further details please contact the Church office on 01273 495532. All are welcome.
